Tinariwen vystupovali v Glastonbury, Roskilde, získali cenu BBC World Music za Afriku a jejich předešlé album vedlo Evropský žebříček World Music. Loni jamovali na festivalu v Montreux s Carlosem Santanou, který o nich prohlásil: "Slyším z nich kořeny Muddyho Waterse, Jeffa Becka i blues, od nich ta hudba pochází." "Vyrůstali v exilu, školou jim byl konflikt, útočiště našli v undergroundu, kde získali punc legendy.
